studio 10 - all the fun of the fair

The studio project for this year aims to explore the architectural and social themes of the fair, beyond its modern incarnation and looking back to its origins, and the implications of it as an 'event' coopting the existing space of the street.

My own personal interests with the fair lie in an idea of it as a 'fictional' appropriation of the architectural 'truth' of the built fabric and defined programme of the everyday street - reflecting Baudrillard's ideas in Truth and Radicality in Architecture and the concept of interpretive space as posited by Hill and based on  Barthes Death of the Author.
